Spokane Raceway Park
Posted: LAProject @ Mon Apr 21, 2008 8:14 am
As most of you are aware, SRP has been in receivership for the past couple of years. An auction was held on April 10th, with Spokane County's bid tenatively winning. However, the issue is far from over, and there is a lot of work to be done.

Scott Adare is setting up a "Friends of SRP" organization. To get on the
mailing list, send an email asking to join to:
FOSRP@aol.com

Here's the letter he sent out recently. Of note are the cleanup days
(#3) and possibly getting the track open by July 1st (#6).

Dear Friend of Spokane Raceway Park,
Thank you for your support of the Friends of SRP!
As you know, Spokane County has won the bid for SRP at Auction on April
10. This begins the work to bring this purchase to the next step, and
complete the sale and get SRP opened.

The decision is under assault by the dissenting County Commissioner,
Bonnie Mager, and her supporters in the community. There is a group who
do not believe that Spokane County should get into the racing business.

Many of you have offered support, and a few of you are here just to keep
tabs on what is happening. You are all welcome.

Here is what you can do, and what is happening with respect to SRP:

1, Let others know of this list, and ask them to send an email to
fosrp@aol.com <mailto:fosrp@aol.com> to be added to the distribution.

2, If you have not written a letter showing support of the purchase of
SRP to the Spokesman Review, please do so this week. There is a large
letter campaign in the Spokane Newspaper. If you are not a writer,
that's OK. Write 5 sentences and send it, please spell -check what you
write, but send it!
Write to editors@spokesman.com <mailto:editors@spokesman.com>,
include your name and phone number for the editor to get your permission
to print it. 200 words or less. In you own words, state why County
ownership is important to you.

PRMSG Member Cards
Posted: LAProject @ Wed Aug 23, 2006 10:24 pm
I'm reposting this in the hopes that I might get more than one response from the club. Do you guys think this is a good idea? Do you like the idea for the card? Do you hate it? Do you have ideas to improve it? Do you have a better idea for getting new members the word that we have a club? I really hope for more input on this. I would also like some ideas on how to get more overall involvement in the club.

Thanks everyone!

I've finally gotten around to getting this finished and ready for everyone to take a look at. The idea here is to create a business style card that we can provide information for potential members...if you are somewhere around town, and see a sweet car, drop a card under the windshield just to let the person know we have a club for local enthusiasts. I need some ideas as to what to print on the back of the card. Please take a look at the front, and tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Recap from Friday track day and Porsche club day
Posted: Doc @ Sun Apr 16, 2006 10:38 am
I had a great weekend, even though I had to retire the sentra on Saturday due to an ever growing oil leak Sad.

Friday started cold and rainy. Tires weren't sticking, either you were pushing or counter steering through the corners. If you were lucky enough to have ABS, it was being used, if not... then you were locking the tires up alot! Fun began once the rain let up and the track slowly dried out. I know that I started to feel better about my braking zones once the tires started to do there jobs again.

Saturday's Porsche club day started the same as the prior with rain (and some sleet) and cold weather. Greg with the Chase Cam in his car became the most popular car out there... everyone wanted to pass and/or follow him, not sure why Wink. The Porsche guys packed up by 2:30 and left, we stayed until about 4:30 with the track to ourselves.

Our little pit area...

Of course for us to have more of these fun days, we need to start getting more people out there...
